D&D For Everyone!

Funding Options

Goblets & Goblins Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Clubs are eligible for SSAH (Special Services at Home) funding because they provide a structured, interactive environment where children with autism can develop critical social and team-building skills.

The SSAH program, administered by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, offers funding for services that enhance a child's development and social inclusion, while providing respite for parents or primary caregivers. Goblets & Goblins meets these criteria by facilitating role-playing activities in D&D, a game that encourages communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. These activities support children on the autism spectrum in learning how to engage with peers, understand social cues, and work as part of a team—all essential for their social development.

Additionally, the group setting of Goblets & Goblins clubs helps children practice cooperation and emotional regulation in a fun, low-pressure environment. Role-playing games like D&D allow participants to take on different characters and situations, which helps them build empathy and understand different perspectives. This aligns with SSAH's goals of providing opportunities for children to develop skills that foster independence and community integration.

The inclusive and supportive atmosphere created by Goblets & Goblins gives children with autism a unique opportunity to enhance their social interaction and teamwork abilities, making the program an excellent fit for SSAH funding.
